Vektor Junkie

Von stumbled across this site at work the other day, and I am so glad she did. Vektor Junkie is a site that hosts Vektorika Magazine, an online magazine devoted to all that is vector, and it is fabulous (with up to 100 pages per issue!). Each issue is available for download, and features submissions from digital artists all over the world. It amazes me just how many talented people there are in the world!

Lotus Bleu

Lotus Bleu Art & Interior Design (as seen in Design*Sponge) create wonderful home furnishings. Based in the US, their boutique in the heart of Hayes Valley is a unique source for home design in San Francisco. 'With annual trips to France and Southeast Asia, we have gathered an exciting selection of home textiles, lighting and art with a modern twist on traditional materials and motifs. These items are chosen with particular attention to rich colors, bold patterns, modern prints, hand-embroidered details and luxurious fabrics. In addition, we offer a collection of vintage furniture pieces reupholstered and updated in the exclusive fabrics we carry from Europe'.

Bill O'Neil

I found the works of Bill O'Neil via the Paper Shop Ink blog.'My creations are an illustrative and graphic fusion of abstracts and symbolism, chaos and mathematics, pop culture advertising and artifacts, and some kind of otherworldly information maps... I always seek to create pieces that feel kinetic, that seem evolve or change based on the viewers mood, or resonate differently with different people... something like mood-art...'. Well worth checking out his Etsy shop and website.

Rebound Books

Here is a novel idea (pardon the pun) from Rebound Books. The idea is really simple… they find beautiful, neglected :-( hardcover books and re-bind them with a creamy, matt, environmentally friendly paper. The result is a durable, totally unique journal, diary or sketchbook :-) The original insides are also yours if you want them (so take it easy all you militant book freaks out there!), or they will donate them to a school with zero library resources. Fabulous!

Pantone Mugs

These great Pantone Mugs from W2 (awesome gift for any designer out there) are 72.00 Pounds for the set of 10, or 8.00 pounds each. also available in an Espresso 4 cup set for 35.00 pounds. W2 Products seem to be unable to ship outside the UK as yet, but their goodies are available at the National Gallery of Victoria shop, yay!

Dwell Studio

Dwell Home Furnishings was founded by Christiane Lemieux in 1999 in an effort to bring modern textile design to the world of home. Christiane Lemieux is the Founder and Creative Director of DwellStudio. Before bringing her textile expertise to bedding design in 1999, Christiane was the Design Director of Portico New York, a luxury home furnishings company, and a fashion designer at Isaac Mizrahi and the Gap. The result is an American style, but with rich earthy tones that are adaptable to any home environment. I particularly love the detail in their Chinoiserie (bird design) range.

Hanna Werning

These are some recent prints from one of my favourite designers, Hanna Werning. Check out her site www.byhanna.com for some true print and pattern inspiration.

Plate Hangers

Did you know that adhesive plate discs exist? They stick to the back of your plates and when installed, no hook or holder is visible. Perfect! What happens in the future when you want to remove them? Just soak the plates in warm water and the disc loosens and you can simply peel it off. They come in all sizes, can be trimmed to fit, and the larger disc can support a 6.5 lb plate. You simply wet the disc and rub the glue around with your finger. Then you position it on the back of your plate. Let this dry overnight and that's it, you're done. I think these discs answer a question I've had since viewing this image in Living Etc. ages ago - how did they install them? It looks like some have wire holders, others do not. The image isn't clear enough for me to see. But I know this for sure, I would prefer to do things my way - no visible holders. And though I can't be sure, I'm thinking it would be easy with these disc plate holders and a few tiny wood blocks (from the craft store) in varying heights painted the same color as your walls, screwed into the wall, for the lovely three dimensional effect. I tried to find them on-line via http://www.livingetc.com/ but didn't have much luck. So keep an eye out in your local hardware stores. (Source Design Sponge)
